The Global Sourcing Manager - Thailand is responsible for the identification, development and implementation of global sourcing strategies, relative to the purchases of major and strategic commodities specific to the Thailand market. This includes interfacing with all facets of supply chain management including manufacturing, engineering, quality and suppliers- management staffs. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing procurement strategies of approximately $80MM - $120MM.
  • Employs strategic procurement practices, processes and techniques to provide the best total cost supply chain solution.
  • Leads negotiations, contract development, implementation, and compliance management for defined global commodity groups.
  • Identifies opportunities and drives improvements from long standing relationships and promotes movements to new supply sources as required.
  • Participates in the forecasting and budgeting process by providing market analysis of current and future trends in defined areas.
  • Evaluates and develops alternative supply sources in emerging markets.
  • Benchmarks best in class procurement and strategic sourcing practices.


Qualifications 
Knowledge/Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with sourcing in Thailand is required.
  • Tai nationality is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to speak, write and read Tai or Siamese is required.
  • Business fluency in English is required.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of standard accounting costing systems and activity based costing.
  • Strong strategic sourcing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to find and analyze data resulting in a focused drive of procurement actions/initiatives.
  • Ability to interface seamlessly with all levels of organization.
  • Exposure to value engineering and value analysis.
  • Strong team building and interpersonal skills.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Business or Mechanical Engineering degree is strongly preferred
