ROLE - Senior Mechanical Design Engineer


Perform and manage mechanical engineering design for new product development





  • Lead the technical development and engineering effort for new product development.
  • Conceive the mechanical design with moderate to difficult complexities, utilizing SolidWorks solid modeling software.
  • Participate in product requirement definition, product concept and layout, detailed design, verification testing, and material and fabrication process selection.
  • Create complete engineering drawing packages (i.e. fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, BOM’s, specification control drawings, etc.)
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and design approaches that meet or exceed product requirements within cost targets.
  • Manage projects on a day-to-day basis, working closely with cross functional teams and suppliers to drive projects to completion.





  • BMSE (or MSME desired but not required).
  • 5+ years engineering experience in new product design and development.
  • 5+ years general ME investigation, research, and problem solving expertise
  • 3D CAD experience required: SolidWorks preferred.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA required) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD preferred).
  • Advanced mechanical engineering analysis (stress, vibration, thermal, fluidic); proven ability to perform simple hand calculations on the fly, e.g. beam deflections, simple stress-strain, spring design, general statics, strengths of materials, etc.
  • Experience participating in Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Design experience to include injection molded plastics, precision casting, and machined metal components.
  • Knowledge of low to medium volume manufacturing processes including metal fabrication and plastic injection molding.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques preferred .
  • Travel required 10% or less to suppliers and customers.
